Productivity focus as economy tightens

The recruitment firm Manpower has published a survey demonstrating that the priority for business is to gain greater productivity and efficiency from staff.

In a survey of 2,033 employers, the survey showed productivity rising from second place on a 2007 priority list to first place for 2008. Other issues raised were staff retention, succession planning and controlling wage inflation.
