Figures from the CIPD show the average costs of Employment Tribunals are running at about £20,000 per business per annum.
The costs also increase for larger businesses with those employing more than 10,000 people spending around £210,000 every year to handle claims. Including those disputes which don’t go to trial produces another worrying statistic - across the whole of UK industry, the research shows 350 days of management time per Company per year is lost to disputes – the equivalent of 1 ½ managers per business doing nothing but managing disputes.
