Agency Workers Directive

The second half of 2009 will see the Government’s reform of sick notes implemented.

The reform will move the existing procedure away from paper and onto an electronic delivery system and change the focus of the notes onto what an employee can do rather than what they cannot. National training is being planned to support GPs in moving away from ‘signing people off’ and into helping people to stay at work wherever possible.
