Sainsbury manage without HR Director

A man who accused his employers of discriminating against his environmental views has won £42,200 in settlement plus a contribution of £12,800 towards his legal costs.

Tim Nicholson was made redundant by housing firm Grainger in July 2008. He subsequently claimed that his strong belief in managing climate change issues from his role as Head of Sustainability at the firm had put him at odds with management who discriminated against him because of his views.
